Site Design Questions

In my webII class we're discussing questions and getting the information you need to build a site. These are some things to keep in mind when trying to figure out what a client is looking for when they decide to have a web presence or update their site.

    Style
  • Have client name 3 sites they like
  • Do they have a usable logo?
  • Are there certain colors they like or need to use?
  • Does the site need to change with the seasons?
    Content
  • Pictures, do they have any, will they supply?
  • What kind of info is required?
  • Who will write the content for the site?
  • What's the goal of the site?
    Tech
  • How will content management be handled?
  • Who's hosting the site?
  • How will the site be built?
  • Security, is there sensitive information?
  • How can visitors contact the site owner, email, phone, etc?
    Other
  • What's they client's knowledge of the internet? do they need extra explanation of things?
  • What's the best way for the designer to keep in touch with the client?
  • Timeline?
  • Budget?
